There are many stereotypes about computers and the people who use them. I vote for high touch not high tech, but it seems as times wears on, there is a blending at the top of both fields.
Maybe that is what all the ruchess is about with the video-cams, and loss of privacy...the newest generation are trying to "Make It Real".
Of course, we think like computers, we (humans) made them! Most of my thoughts remain entombed in deep storage and it takes alot of shakin to rummage through it. I do find peculiar gems and moments of epiphany.
I spent 8 hours on the computer today working on a powerpoint presentation. It allowed me to integrate the arts with technology, weaving back and forth between creating shapes of boxes for text, then choosing which color tint to blend and soothe my potential audience into "seeing things my way".
I made up a "wire-frame" for my information to live in. I color-coded the titles with the sub-titles, and the referenced materials. I enjoyed it. I did experience a learning curve, one that different human beings experience at various levels of frustration and pleasure.
I pity those who have not dived in yet and learned how to use computers. It's not a joke, it could determine the social and financial class of each of us, in the near future. Perhaps instead of the Haves and Have-Nots, it will equate to the Computer-Literati and the Non-Computer-Literati. Cartoons anyone?
