Encouraging your child photographer

I have a 4 year old daughter who absolutely loves being behind the camera! When she was younger she loved to have her picture taken. She would pose every time. But now the tables have changed. Now that she realized how a camera works and what you get out of it, she wants to be the one taking the pictures of everyone else. My husband and I condone and support this in every way possible. Why shouldn't she be able to do something that she loves just because she is only 4? Who knows, maybe she'll be a famous photographer one day! Just this year, fisher price has come out with a new, durable, kid proof digital camera. My husband and I ran out and got her one immediately for christmas. I can't wait until she opens it in a couple weeks! That camera has been the #1 thing on her christmas list for santa ever since she saw the first commercial for it. I think it is great for a child to be interested in something so wholesome and fun. It can really bring out her creative side and it's a good way for her to spend her free time rather than sitting in front of the television or computer. It also gives us more opportunity for arts and crafts time together. She dearly loves arts and crafts also, so now we can put the pictures that she takes onto the computer, print them out, and make cards and gifts for people. Or she can make her own scrapbook of all of her favorite photos that she's taken and keep it to look at when she gets older. Sometimes I wonder if this is how everyone starts out.... they start at a young age with a passion for something and take that into adulthood and make a career out of it. If so, I am going to keep encouraging my daughter as much as possible. I will encourage her with anything that she has a passion for.
