You'd be surprised how many amateur golfers hit balls on the driving range and don't select a specific target to hit to. Golf is a game of who misses best; meaning, the player to hits the ball closest to their target more times than not has the best chance of scoring well.
When you select your target think about the type of shot you need to hit to land on or near your target. Visualize a set of railroad tracks. The outside track is where you align your ball and club face. The inside track is where you align your feet, hips, and shoulders; slightly left of your target.
Give yourself a visual by laying down a club at your feet as a guide. Make sure it is pointed down your target line, slightly left of the target. Align your ball and club face at your target and your feet, hips, and shoulders along the line of the club on the ground. This drill is done routinely by professionals on the range when they practice and warm-up. Use this drill until proper alignment becomes second nature then always hit several shots using this drill each time to go to the range.
Proper alignment leads to good, consistent golf shots.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and I hope you hit them straight and close.
