Adventure travel is a unique experience, and that produces memories that will never leave you. The art is to design the adventure around the right destination. Let us take you on an pre-adventure travel journey, only this will be one where you will be treated to a range of locations within which to locate your very own adventure experience.

1) The Himalayas and Pyrenees. For those who want the adventure of skiing or mountain climbing, these are the areas to visit. At the highest point both are snow bound, providing you with an opportunity to pit your skills against some of nature's toughest elements.

2) Sahara. Pack up your 4 x 4 and prepare to take on the might of the deserts. Join the rally across Africa's most hostile and barren sands as you experience some of the hottest days and coldest nights on earth.

3) Central Australia. Do you love to go a wandering? Then this is the place for you. With a backpack on your shoulders, set off for one of the most spectacular experiences of your life. Experience the sunrise over Table Mountain and spend nights under starlit skies, singing around a campfire.

4) Amazon. Take a trip along the Amazon. Watch in wonder and a little fear as river life goes on around you, with crocodiles eyeing what they would consider to be a healthy take-away. Experience the multi-colours and hues of the rain forest stretching away each side of the river as far as the eye can see, and the unique sounds of the birds and animals calling to each other. Call in at the native villages and share an experience with people time forgot.

5) Portsmouth UK. This is only the starting point for a maritime adventure. You will become part of the crew on a replica sail powered schooner. Learn how living at sea use to be (okay with some home comforts), as you and your fellow crewmates take on the power of the seas on a memorable sailing voyage.

6) Greenland. Want to live in a fridge? Well it is an igloo actually. The don you very, very thick parkas and set out for a two week trek across the brilliant white landscape that covers the top of the world. What the polar bears prowling across this barren waste of ice, and the penguins gathering in groups, like proud statesmen discussing the invasions into their world. Learn how to catch your own dinner with a saw, a line, and a piece of bait. All you need to do is cut a hole in the ice.

7) Hadrian's wall. China, one of the most exciting destinations in the modern wall. Prepare your feet well as you ramble along Hadrian's Wall, admiring the unique scenery of a land that holds the world's largest population. See the people in their strange "lampshade like" hats, tending to the paddy fields, knee deep in water. Whilst there you must visit the sight of the Terracotta Soldiers. Hundreds of handmade troops in perfect military formation.

The above will take up three months of your year. After that, it is a return to the comfort of your living room, armed with your adventure dvd's, where you can rest secure in the knowledge that you will experience the pleasures all over again as your friends join you for an armchair based reawakening of memories.
