Homemade Christmas tree ornaments

Picture your kitchen table surrounded by all of your family and maybe some of your friends. Making your own Christmas tree ornaments can turn into a holiday party. Serve hot chocolate or a little spirits will do, and play your holiday music in the background. Have a Christmas get together, make your own ornament tree trimming party.

Some ideas you may consider.

A popcorn tree garland :

Use popcorn and string it on a plastic fishing line or fine string, alternate the popcorn with a cranberry and a raisin or a marshmallow. Continue alternating them until the garland is long enough to encircle your Christmas tree.

Colorful ring garland:

Using colored construction paper or gold or silver colored foil. Cut them in long strips all the same size. Wrap around glue, paste, or staple together circle through circle until it is the length you need to encircle your tree.

Styrofoam ornaments:

Purchase Styrofoam at a craft store. They come in all shapes. Consider using sequins, beads as well as ribbon and pipe cleaners. Your creative spirit will take off in leaps and bounds. There are many different projects and tree ornament options using fabric and jewelry. Use special precautions and parental supervision if there are young children or toddlers who may be at risk with scissors, pins and very small objects.
