Strangest phobias ever

There are many hundreds of strange phobias that i have heard of. Some of which are understandable and some of which are completely bizarre, because the subject of the phobia are completely harmless under any circumstances. Most phobias are developed from either an innate fear of something which we all have (such as spiders and snakes because they are poisonous or fire because it can burn us) which is just more prevalent in some people. However the other type of phobia is developed from a traumatic experience with something, often at a young age, which is why some people are terrified of things that most of us have no fear of at all. Here are some of the strangest and most inexplicable phobias i have heard of and their meanings.

Onomatophobia- Fear of hearing a certain word or name.

Uranophobia- Fear of heaven.

Papaphobia- Fear of the Pope/the catholic church.

Mottephobia- Fear of moths, as symbolic of death and their movement.

Pogonophobia- Fear of beards, both of them on other people and beards on yourself.

Japanophobia- Fear of Japanese people, symbols and even writing.

Kenophobia- Fear of any voids or empty spaces, particularly in the home.

Levophobia- Fear of things to the left side of the body.

Lutraphobia- Fear of otters, even though otters are a rare sight in nearly all countries.

Numerophobia- Fear of numbers.

Ranidaphobia- Fear of frogs, their movements and their noises.

Scriptophobia- Fear and inability of writing in public.

Textophobia- Fear of the feel of certain fabrics.

Thaasophobia- Fear of sitting down.

Xenoglossophobia- Fear of foreign languages, often with fear of foreigners altogether.

Cyclophobia- Fear of bicycles.
