The King Has Lost His Crown

The king has lost his crown,
It simply could not be found.
He looked high and he looked low,
Now where could a king's crown go?

Stooping down to look beneath the throne,
"It's not here," he said with a groan.
"And not on top of any bookcase."
Sadness is etched upon his noble face.

He searched the highest tower,
For the better part of an hour.
Then the king slowly worked his way down,
Still the crown could not be found.

He looked under all the chairs and tables,
And all through the royal stables.
Even looking inside the royal coach,
Now it was time to take a new approach.

The king decided to retrace his path
This lead him to the royal bath.
Where he had left it he wasn't certain,
As he peered behind the curtain.

He looked over, around and under his bed,
Then he scratched his royal head.
There he found his crown was perched,
His head was the only place he hadn't searched.

And so my dears, this is the end of the tale,
About a king whose memory failed.
There was only one problem left to be seen,
Where in the world had he left the queen?
