Poetry: I long for you

by varsity

I'll gladly smile as I think of you,
and the little things you sometimes do.

You have touched my heart, my very soul,
To have these emotions running out of control.

You pick me up when I am down,
and brighten my face from it's usual frown.

So many things are happening and it's all so new,
I'm not sure how to act or the right things to do.

I'm afraid of everything like a lost little lamb,
So I tuck my fears deep inside and act like a clown.

Emotions running wild, controlling them at best,
just to be near you, touch you, my only quest.

To have found someone that truly cares,
and isn't afraid to share.

No one can truly understand these feeling deep inside,
but the evidence shows on my face, with clearly no place to hide.

Each day passes with the setting of the sun,
one more fear vanished, but more to overcome.

No pressure do I feel, for this I'm truly blessed,
for I'm beginning to see brighter days, the darkness put to rest.

So many dreams at my finger tips, just to far to touch,
now holding one in my palm means so very much.

You've given me this gift, in which I can't deny,
feelings and emotions that I couldn't stop, even if I tried.

    Tarry not too long.
    I miss your breath,
    I miss your song.
I yearn for your clandestine voice
