When you have religion, you will always have extremists... regardless of the religion. Often, when there's an extremist group, it can and does escalate and causes terrorism. It's human nature to want to dominate and choose things for other people. Unfortunately, we all have a choice, and when making those choices, sometimes we go to the extreme. Religion definitely has some to do with terrorism. I wouldn't blame all terrorism on religion, but, religion does oftentimes have a lot to do with terrorism. Not all terrorists are doing it for religious reasons, but, a large majority do.
Terrorism and religion do often seem to go hand in hand, and wars are started and fought in the name of religion. Where there is strife, there is terrorism. I think it's horrible and terribly sad that terrorism is done in the name of religion, because most religions are peaceful and teach against war and hurting another human being. Unfortunately, the extremists who are quoting their versions of scripture or their religion's teachings, neglect those parts of their religion's teachings and take the teachings that support their actions and attitudes.
Religion often has a lot to do with terrorism, but not all terrorism has something to do with religion. There are certain people and beliefs that will just be prone to terrorism anyway, religion aside.
