Movie reviews: Once

A street musician (Glen Hansard) and a Czech immigrant (Markta Irglov)meet through the most accidental of enocunters and builds a musical romantic relationship that prospers into a blooming loving relationship and a blooming music career. This couple works together in Dublin recording songs together that reveal their innermost desires and the things that plague their soul. Their music, pure with emotions and memories, brings passion and emotions to the hearer. Director John Carney's film is truly a journey into the world of music, sung from the heart and it is truly a amazing and capturing experience.

The movie is given a "R" rating, but there is nothing deserving of that rating in this movie. The only things you have to watch out for are the occasional "F" words that happen to occur in a melody and the accent of the Czech & Irish English. The movie is and does not in any way fit into the comedy "label" but there are some incidences that brings a smile to your face. Once (2007) is a brilliant movie with the most original ideas that brings music alive to the big screen. The movie also dives into romance, love and the art of making emotions into music, and serves to inspire and captivate its audiences. I give this movie 5 stars and this movie is a MUST SEE movie for your spiritual growth and musical insight, truly the best musical movie for this generation.
