I found Reaction Fly and Tackle to be an inviting site for fishermen. Besides the online store they also offer a toll free number for ordering and customer service, and a store finder if you prefer to go in person to buy your gear. The web address for this site is not quite as obvious as the others. You will need to type in http://www.reactionbaits.com

Finally I found Montana Outdoor Store to be a very easy to navigate site for sporting goods including fishing, hunting, and camping. Their drop down menus for specific items you may be shopping for are quick and easy to find from their sidebar menu.

These are just a few of the best sites I found through Ask.com. There are many more that you can find through your preferred search engine. These not only take away the stress of finding the specific rod and reel, or fly, but you no longer have the excuse to plead ignorance. Sorry about that last bit.
