I'll be honest...I have never been a "Britney fan". But I think I really disliked her after her "Not a Girl, Not yet a Woman" song came out. To me, it was obvious she was desperate for her transition from childhood rock star to A-list adult musician to be taken seriously. Then I saw an actual interview with her and I remember watching it, my mouth agape in horror at how unintelligent this woman really was. I don't understand how someone who is in the public eye as much as she is, with all the people who tell her what to do and what NOT to do, why teaching her how to speak properly never came into play. If I had the time and money as Miss Spears has, I would have made my image high on the list of what's important.
I understand that life in the public eye is hard. But I also know that there are MANY celebrities who keep their private life just that...private. I can even understand being at an age where young adults want to let loose and enjoy their life, not caring what others think. What I DON'T understand is how she can live so flippantly. She marries, then gets an annulment. She marries again and the world wonders why of all the people she chose Kevin Federline. I'm not rich and probably never will be. But I'd like to think that if I was in her position, knowing full well how vindictive and money-hungry the world can be, marriage is not something I'd jump into, putting my image and fortune that I would've worked so hard for on the line for someone trying to catch a break. In a perfect world money would not ever come into how much a person loves another. But this isn't a perfect world and, given the fact K-Fed left his then-pregnant girlfriend for Miss Spears, to me this would be a big red flag. The bad choices she has made from day one of her independence are numerous. She has clearly shown how self absorbed and shallow she is by neglecting the welfare of her children, toting them around like one of Paris Hilton's dogs. As a mother, as a woman and as a consumer I can honestly say she is a horrible role model. So I say...who cares. If only more people could say that!
