Me being a member of Myspace I can't really downgrade it cause i use it way to often but there are things parents should know about myspace, especially if your child has an account. With myspace being on the news with those awful story's of teens running away or committing suicide. That should be enough for parents to take action and learn where there child stands on myspace. Myspace can be a wonderful place to meet new people and stay in contact with friends but not every teen is 'smart' with how they use it. I've never had a real negative experience with myspace, I've actually meet alot of new people from all different schools and around my local area. Ofcorse i inform my parents and i usually let them go with me when i meet these people off of myspace (most of them have parent who are members of yacht clubs that my parents go to) But it seems like there's always those certain teens who feel scared to talk to there parents about this, so parents you need to take it into your own hands and tell them If you are going to meet someone you don't know 1st Go with a group of friends (you never are for sure about a person) Second make sure they keep you posted at all times, you should know where they're at, at all times! Second off Myspace is where teens real personality shows. You can learn alot from a person just looking at the myspace page. You'll be surprised those teens you thought we're amazing people can turn out for the worst. Myspace is an growing place to see Sex, drugs, Suicidal personality's, and Gang Related information/ things. So i'm not saying myspace is a safe place at all it's just depending on how your teens are using it. You should also watch for Depression in you teens myspace is an amazing place for on line Bullying. Recently a girl names Megan Meier Committed suicide because of cruel comments made to her by a Fake Myspacee member who were actually local neighbors. Please go read more about her and her story if what i said doesn't make you change your mind about getting involved with a teen active with myspace her story will.
