Roll out the red carpet and get ready to put a smile on your teenage movie buff's face this Christmas! If she's all about movies, you can make her gift just as legendary as those famous flicks she cherishes so much.
Loving the movies probably means she's creative, so it's okay to get creative on her movie-themed gift. One must-visit website for gift-browsing is www.hollywoodmegastore.com. There you can peruse life-sized stand-ups of her favorite stars, gift sets and personalized items, movie posters from her favorite flick, and fun items like movie reel "containers" that will hold snacks or her personal items.
The movie production company AMC also offers many gifts, including older movies and sets of movies. Pick from sets including 80s Favorites and Movies that Shook the World. (www.amctv.com) AMC also actually offers a film camp, if you can afford such a fun and lavish gift. Students create their own short film, working with camera operations, crew roles and responsibilities, script writing & editing, lens selection, film stock, shooting, directing, and lighting. The final session of the course is a screening of the students' films followed by a wrap party. The teachers will actually choose a few of the students' films as part of a special web mini-movie showcase, at amctv.com. The cost of the course is $1500 and more info is available on their site.
If you are feeling lucky, get on Ebay and search for movie memorabilia, especially from her favorite flick. You never know if you might end up with Dorothy's Toto basket, or Reese Witherspoon's pink purse from Legally Blonde!
And of course, there are the good old stanby DVD selections and Blockbuster or Netflix giftcards which never go out of style. Popular titles she'll love include Superbad, the Nanny Diaries, Whos Your Caddy, I Know Who Killed Me, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, Mr. Bean's Holiday, and License to Wed. Wrap them all up and tie a nice pair of moviestar sunglasses with the bow, and you have a gift set to wow your starlet teen.
