Teenage girls spend a lot of time watching movies- they're perfect for date nights, slumber parties, or just killing time when homework is done. Whether your daughter is into horror movies, comedies, or dramas, here are some great gift ideas for your young movie buff.

There is the obvious of course- DVDs. Go with a theme like all black and white movies, all Joaquin Phoenix movies, or all movies starring Saturday Night Live actors. Have fun with it and be creative. She'll appreciate the added touch. You might even invest in a DVD player for her room, or a travel DVD player for long trips.

If you aren't sure which DVDs she already owns consider gift certificates to Blockbuster or better yet, to the movie theater. Put together a movie-goers survival kit with Popcorn, Sour Patch Kids, and a twelve pack of pop. Throw it all in a giant, personalized popcorn bowl and you've created a great (and cheap) gift.

Think your teen spends too much time in front of the screen? Pick up some movie-related gifts like books on the history of film, an autobiography by her favorite actor, Trivial Pursuit (Pop Culture edition or Silver Screen Edition). Novelty stores often have paraphernalia for movies so swing by and pick up a logo t-shirt or poster (try Spencers or www.teesnthings.com). If she has ever shown interest in making movies, you might find an inexpensive video camera and a beginner's guide. Just be prepared to star in her first documentary.
