Absolutely! Fireworks are enchanting, and there's just nothing like that feeling when you've just lit the fuse and you're running away, looking over your shoulder, and snickering. A family round of fireworks brings together young and old, and is a dazzling centerpiece for family celebrations and gatherings. What fun! The magic is especially electrifying when the children are 7 or 8 years old, and being allowed to set things _that blow up_ on fire. Sparklers that they get to hold are also thrilling. Bring a video recorder or a digital camera that takes videos, fireworks make really dramatic home movies. Children's reactions are always so funny.
Of course children should obviously not be allowed to do this alone. It's an activity for special occasions, not everyday play in the back yard. Buy fresh fireworks just before the celebration. Fresh fireworks work better, and the temptation for the kids to sneak reserves from the garage is removed. The supervising adults should make sure that there is no significant fire hazard, and that there are no crowds around should one rocket happen to go astray. Everyone at the gathering should be aware that fireworks are about to go off. Not only should the kids get to play with them, but grandma and grandpa as well!
