Christmas presents your teen girl will always remember

by Logan Stewart

Created on: December 04, 2007

Amid the materialism of the holidays, it's hard to pick out the perfect gift for a teenage girl that will have a lasting impact and that she will remember long after she is grown with her own children. By putting just a little extra creative thought into your gift-giving, you might just hit the nail on the head and give her that one memorable gift that she will always think back on with a smile.

Is she somewhat of a daredevil, sports nut, or wild child? Try giving her a gift of a chance to skydive, bungee jump, kiteboard, Zorbing, parachute jumping, or surfing or kayaking lessons. These "once in a lifetime" opportunities are gifts that would be hard for anyone to forget! You can also try a gift for her to try the NASCAR Ultimate Driving Experience (or a similar program, depending on your geographical location), which will put her close to being a V8 supercar driver!

If she has a favorite band, get her tickets to their concert, if they will be playing anywhere near your hometown. Make the evening complete with tickets for a friend or two of hers to go along, dinner for them, and if you really want to splurge, a limo to take them to the show.

If you don't want to go to quite such an extreme with your gift-giving, there are still other options for memorable gifts that are a little less expensive, and actually more personal. Think about creating a scrapbook for her - for her high school years, for her entire life, or of her with her friends. Or, give her a scrapbooking class at your local Michael's or other art store. You can also give her a wisdom book, compiled of comments from friends and family with their favorite memories of her, and their favorite songs, scripture and words of wisdom that remind them of her. If you can sew, you can make her a quilt out of her old t-shirts (or have a shop do this for you). If your family is in to cooking, you can create a family cookbook for her full of favorite family recipes. Include an introduction, and a section about "your heritage" and the food from the region of the world that your family is from.

A final idea - a giant photo frame (think many photo openings) with an assortment of printed photos that she can pick and choose from, and insert them where she wants to. Photos can be of friends, family, pets, or all of the above!
