Poetry: The bee's knees

by Makala Shay

Created on: December 02, 2007   Last Updated: December 03, 2007

Many, many years ago, at family functions when
you would show. The first thing that you would
do, is see if I'd made baked beans for you.

Christening them "The Bees Knees", every time
you looked for these.Always asking for more,
as you were walking out the door.

I wish I'd said something before, you were placed
in the hospital corridor.Letting you know just like
the beans, how much your friendship really means.

You are the bees knees to our family, and so
thats what I christen thee. Just like the beans
that you so love, and are constantly speaking of.

Your loved in the same way, and the bee knees to
us you'll always stay.
