Jason Aldean has a deep voice which makes people yearn to hear more of his songs. Jason mixes a bit of country, rock and pop to create his unique sound in songs such as "Hick town" and "She Loved Me". After a rough time trying to make a record deal Jason finally broke through with Broken Bow Records and produced by Michael Knox. His first album is self-titled and starts off with his lead single "Hick Town".
"Hick Town" made Jason a country star almost instantaneously. It's about Jason, as a younger man with his 4 wheeler and just plain being a guy. It holds strong lyrics and an amazing video pulling the listener in with his enthusiasm. No wonder he made platinum with this record.
Another cowboy song on Jason's record is "Amarillo Sky". This song will really make you think about the younger society of people creating traditions and passing them on. Mainly, this song is about a young cowboy fighting with the everyday struggles of farming and how he relates to it. "Amarillo Sky" was also co-written with Big & Rich, and has been on other albums by different artists so you may recognize it as someone else's song.
With the guitar beside his voice, Jason gives us a few good love songs on his album as well. "You're the love I want to be in" is a slow song, which some may find kind of dragging but as with all of Jason's songs you will find the lyrics and his voice pulling you in making the listening of this album a good one.
Jason Aldean manages to mix a side of new country with old country making his album good listening for all ages. His voice and energy is sure to pull you in to loving his music and his lyrics will make you think hard and relate. This album is definitely recommended by me.
