Having never really finished a pizza in my life, we found that the Italian style restaurants were open to the idea of giving us one pizza to share between us, and that we could get a great mixed salad and dessert for the same price as two pizzas. Again, if you eat out too often, it takes away the special element, and perhaps a lunchtime drink could replace some of the cost of daytime restaurants, as somehow the meal in the middle of the day isn't romantic, and is more the kind of time when a couple want to talk about what is happening in their day, rather than a la carte expense.

Keeping the romantic idea for those anniversaries means that in general you spend less, and can afford the occasional splurge. Here too, if funds are low, what can be more natural or rewarding than a meal you prepared yourself ? Even if you fail as a cook, you will certainly win brownie points for trying.

BUSINESS MEALS

When you run your own business chances are that you do entertain potential clients, and no one wants to see your company as cheapskates. Here, by negotiating a deal with a good quality restaurant for regular custom, you can cut the bills down enormously. Many are open to the idea and like the fact that their clientele is assured. It's rather impressive to choose a restaurant where the owner knows you, and knows how to cater to your whims, but if you have sized the place out in advance agreeing set prices for business meals, you can save a fortune.

A MEAL TO IMPRESS

We all want to let that boat out at times and impress someone with a meal. Here, there are ways to do it, but you need to know what local restaurants are like, and what they serve in the way of food. Discovering a gem, I was impressed that a local casino were more interested in keeping their clientele and taking money on the gambling table than they were in charging excessive prices. The restaurants in these places are superb because they cater for people who will return and want to keep their reputation, though the prices are impressively modest. Most casinos will hire a top chef because they want business custom, and rich clients. Feed rich clients with bad food and it really is a recipe for disaster. Here, you can take advantage of the wonderful cuisine at really neat prices, and impress at the same time.

SOCIAL INTERACTION WITH OTHERS.

Many people eat out in the hope that they will meet people. How often do you see people sitting alone in a restaurant? Sadly, it is all too often, though the mistake that the socially inept make is that during meals people hardly ever interact with strangers. Instead of restaurants try places that cater for people with the same interests as you, and who knows, all that money you saved on wasted attempts to socially interact in restaurants will mean that when you do find like-minded people, you will have the cash to take them somewhere really nice.
