Since I can remember, I've always been somewhat superstitious with an innate curiosity regarding different spiritual, religious, and philosophical beliefs and practices. It would follow, then, that I enjoy checking my horoscope as well as reading up on information regarding my zodiac sign.

I cannot say that I have actually adhered to the advice I have read over the years, nor that I have fully believed or was able to verify the content of any given horoscope reading. Yet I will still read them upon a whim or coming across a link to a daily or weekly horoscope while surfing the web. Something about it draws me in, to contemplate that I might be part of a predetermined personality group with a related fate based upon when I was born.

My sign is libra, the constellation designated by a balance symbol. The libra, according to astrological beliefs, is said to be somewhat of a diplomat and a good judge of character. I find some aspects of what makes a libra do in fact apply to me, though I cannot say that had I been born under a different sign I might not also find similarities in regards to my personality. Or would I have a different personality had I been born under a different sign of the zodiac? Of course I worry less about such ponderings when I actually read my horoscope and more so when I talk about why I read it.

For me the act of reading a horoscope is more for entertainment purposes than attempting to follow their advice or keep them in mind. They do not influence my day to day activities as much as say, the meteorological forecast. Still I suppose there is a nagging bit of me that might now and then make me wonder if I should heed some warning or take to heart the optimism within that little paragraph.
