This article is humorous because I still have yet to discover my potential writing skills. I do not consider myself a good writer. I do consider myself to be entertaining though. A few years ago I started journaling for the first time in years. In fact, the last time I journaled was in my freshman year of high school on a wilderness trip. I hardly ever picked up a pen and paper since then. But as of late I have found myself indulging into private journaling, short stories, poems, and memoirs like never before. There is something inside me just screaming to be released. So this is how I do it. I do not plan it out, make preparations and rarely will you see revisions. It's rather fun this way. To not have a plan but to simply pour yourself onto paper. A nice cup of coffee usually helps with all of this.
I am back in school now for the second time. I am pursuing a new career and simply put I am finding out how random and incoherent my thoughts can be. I am hoping this will all change by the time I graduate in two years. My formatting skills are lacking and I rarely succumb to advice. These are challenging objects to move past. Hopefully with time and effort this will all change.
A few years ago I started attending open Mic sessions at a local coffee shop. As I watched the musicians do their thing I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to read one of my stories. After months of wondering I finally got myself on stage. I was scared to death. The more I did it the easier it got. The more I heard the laughs and applause of the audience the more I realized I was meant to be a writer. So forget what I said in the beginning. This is when I realized I wanted to be a writer.
