The more global warming becomes a political topic, the more others will doubt its veracity. As evidenced in this song, to be sung to the tune of "Oh Christmas Tree," many try to use the old tactic of fear to influence the ballot box.

We know that fear, can motivate

To stir up strife and even hate

Rely on experts no one knows
To prove there's Global Warming

Tornadoes and torrential rains
We'll blame on Global Warming

We'll speak of Inconvenient Truths
Treat countrymen like simple youths
Then send them to the voting booths
With fear of Global Warming

While it seems clear that weather systems are becoming increasingly erratic, and there is no doubt that weather impacts the lives of all of us, to use it as a tool of fear mongering will only rob its proponents and detractors of credibility. Interestingly in old times, severe weather were referred to as "Acts of God." Perhaps we should look to Him in seeking to temper the weather.
