What to look for when buying a computer as a gift

A guide on what to look for when buying a computer as a gift

Although many people shop for computers as a gift, few know what to even be looking for. So, today, I hope that this guide will enhance your knowledge in what to look for when buying a computer.

1. Know what type they want. Many people have an opinion on a Mac(Macintosh) or a PC(Personal Computer). You need to make sure that you are searching for the right one. You need to know if the person you are buying it for prefers a Mac or a PC.

2. Know what their uses are. Many people want a computer for different uses. Some people want a computer for extreme gaming, while others only want a computer to check their email on. So, it is important to know what they are intending to use it for. Now, I know that is may be hard to find out without them guessing what you are doing, but just try your best.

3. Figure out which one. Do you think that they would enjoy a laptop or a desktop more? Laptops may be easier to carry around, and more flexible. While desktops are more powerful and can last longer.

4. Where to look. Once you have all the information you need, you start to look in different places, but can't find the right one. It is best to look in stores where you are able to slightly test the computer out. A few of these places are Best Buy, CompUSA, and Office Max.

5. Lastly, what to look for. Does the person you are buying it for like to spend long hours on a computer and use it alot, or do they use it rarely and only for small things? If you are buying for a person that likes to be on it alot, then I suggest you get a computer that is a little better than the average computer. Make sure it will last long, and that it is good quality. But if you are buying for the person that seldom uses a computer, then it will be OK to get an average computer. Just make sure that it will last fairly long also.

That is it for this quick guide on what to look for when buying a computer as a gift, I hope that this helps you. Happy shopping!
