Gifts you can share in the office during the holidays

The most commonly shared treat at my workplace is food. Chocolates, sweeties, cookies, dried fruits, dates and nuts and cakes rarely last long at my workplace. The amount always increases after the holidays when sons and daughters' cupboards have been stocked up by visiting Italian, French and Spanish mamas!

It's a nice way to use up luxury goods which are so rich you can only eat a little at a time. It's better for those sugary calories to hit a dozen hips than all go on yours!

Bring in your CDs to play if music is permitted.

Did you receive too many fragrances, pot pourris, soap or hand-creams? Pop them in the rest rooms if you aren't keen on them they'll soon get used.

Overwhelmed with floral arrangements or house plants? Bring them in to the office for everybody to enjoy.

Framed pictures and photos that don't suit your home dcor may look more at home on your desk or in your office. As will coffee table books, puzzles and stress busting toys and gadgets which may all be welcomed in your staff room or chill-out zone.

Colleagues who are close friends may appreciate joining you to enjoy a bottle of fine wine or coupons for Red Letter Experiences or a meal out at a nice restaurant if you have been that lucky to receive such a generous gift.

Others may like to see gift a child has made for you but be careful as your credibility could be questioned if you start enthusing over a knitted spare toilet roll holder!
