If it wasn't for his influence, country music wouldn't have ever change to where it is right now! Garth Brooks changed country music forever! His influence rock country music with his determination of how he wanted his music to sound!
His album, "Garth Brooks: The Hits", tells of not only his greatest hits, but the power he has in his music. These songs took the nation by storm:
The first song that put Garth in households everywhere was: "If Tommorrow Never Comes" is a sensitive love song, about a man's quest in knowing that his true love knows how he feels about her. I think, anyone, who is truly in love, questions fate.
In the song "The Thunder Rolls", Garth brought out the ugliness and the horror of domestic violence in the home. The song sent a powerful message, but the video is what scandalized this song. Garth plays a husband, who, abuses his wife. He changed his look by wig, glasses, and beard. The video shows a side of him, that, was hard to swallow.
Another influential song was the song: "The Dance", Mr. Brooks talks about how grateful he was for his life; how he would miss everything if he wasn't on earth. Famous celebrities are shown in the video with Garth. In the beginning of the video, he gives a short talk about missing life, before the song starts. The song makes you stop and think about your own life.
On a happier note, the song "Friends In Low Places", is an uplifting, fun way of making a point of two different people and lifestyles. In the song, Garth tells of how he went to this party of snobs and felt, lets say, uncomfortable to be there; he rather be with his friends and tells her "good-bye" for good!
These four songs out of many hits like: "Unanswered Prayers" and "To Make You Feel My Love"(this song is on the soundtrack from the movie "Hope Floats") may have each come from different albums, but these songs is what gave Garth Brooks a name in the music industry and in the world.
In many ways, Garth Brooks open wide the door for all country artists, who, wanted to change country music to what it is today! Artists like: Rascall Flatts, Dixie Chicks, and so forth may not be in country music today, if it wasn't for Garth Brooks influenece and talent!
