In the dictionary next to the word movie buff you'll find a picture of my teenage daughter. She has loved movies her whole life at the age of 16 it would be safe to say she has enough movies to open a video rental store. One would think after all these years of buying gifts related to movies I should have ran out of ideas by now, but with Christmas fast approaching I am still going strong with the movie gift ideas.

The most obvious gifts for a teenage movie buff are movies! You might also want to consider these ideas too; gift certificate to the local movie theater, Netflix was and still is a huge success this year, they have four different plans to choose from offering a plan for everyone's budget. Blockbuster has a similar program except you can return the movies to the store and bring home a new one. TV series of their favorite shows have also proven to be a God send over the years. There is nothing better than introducing your teen to your favorite movies and TV shows of days long gone by and I have found spending a snowy winter day curled up on the coach with my daughter watching "The Breakfast Club" or a DVD of "Growing Pains" is very rewarding for both of us.

MOVIE GIFT BASKET

Time to get creative a movie buffs general gift basket. Items you will need; a basket or a reusable bucket a few movies new releases and modern classics, a season or two of their favorite TV show or TV shows from your generation. Microwaveable popcorn, a couple boxes of candy.

THEMED GIFT BASKET

Starting with a basket or container to put the items in. Choose one of your teen's favorite movies. Include the movie (you can never have enough copies of your favorite movie especially if you can find a special edition or one with the script) Next you'll want to find the soundtrack to the movie chances are they love the music as much as the movie. Check around places like E-Bay for movie posters sometimes you will even find an autographed one for a reasonable price. If you can find a copy of the script or if it's based on a book a copy of the book. If the movie has one or more of your teens favorite stars in it you can add anything from a recent magazine with them on the cover, a photo (some places will insert a picture of your teen with the star) which is always a big hit! As an added bonus toss in their favorite snack foods whether it be popcorn or trail mix.

UNIQUE IDEAS

A hand made gift certificate for a movie night, allowing them to invite friends over and have a movie party. Be sure to help them decorate with the movie of the night's theme including the snacks.

If you're teen has an interest beyond watching the movie gift ideas could include; books on making their own movies, writing a script, computer soft wear for editing and for the serious movie maker a DVD camcorder.

Of course if you live near a movie studio spending the day watching a movie or TV show being filmed is a thrill even for those who are not a movie buff.

If you plan a family vacation every year why not take your movie buff to the city where it all happens, Hollywood! Not only will it make a great gift that they will remember for the rest of their lives Hollywood is full of history and there is plenty to do for all the other family members as well.
