specter I had seen so many times before during these treatments, but this time it was far more striking. It hovered above my face, softly folding in on it self with stained glass colors and a silent power that was both friendly and resolute.
Along with this "visitation" came a deep understanding that things had radically shifted and new life was before me. Shastina concurred, and that night it was confirmed. I was guided, by an inner voice that was no stranger to me, to once again sit and give meditation another try. It was a clear insistence that survived my objections, so I sat.
What erupted within me was so intense and profound and utterly euphoric that it startled me. But I continued and was treated to my first unexplainable state of consciousness. As I said before, it felt SO familiar, like it was as natural as toenails, but it made no sense. How could just sitting quietly bring on such bliss? Where was it coming from? Why was it happening?
Then, in the mountains, among the pine trees and granite, I realized or more like, I remembered: Love pure, tranquil, ecstatic Love. Love with none of the downside. Love that only gives, never takes. Love that seems to always be an invitation away, that constantly flows under all of the adversity in life, floating it away like so much debris. A flash-flood of friendship, an ever present companion, a perpetual smile.
Yes, I have a song in my heart. It doesn't know the lyrics, but it's always humming.
