Memoirs: The girl next door

September/28/1887
Sometimes I wonder how she is doing. She just sits there at school all alone no friends to share secrets with or even to ask how their day was. Even though she lives right next door to me she feels so far away in my heart. Yet I just don't have the courage to get myself up and ask her how she is doing. Instead I stare out my window at her. I usually get a ride home from school, meaning I get home first. She walks home alone wile other girls point and laugh at her for not having any friends. Her long black flowing hair black as night bouncing with berets of pearls as she ran to get away from the humiliation of the girls. As she grows closer i can see her face streaked with tears. I opened my door and ran up to her and asked how are you? She looked at me and smiled the only time I ever saw her smile.

The no longer life filling body of Kim my high school sweetheart, lay in the coffin. Her long black hair still as beautiful as ever. It looked as if she was just sleeping peaceful, and serene. My eyes blurred with tears saw only one thing in front of me...death. That day I was going to give her the best birthday ever. Only I had no idea that a drunk driver would be slipping around the corner of that park. I looked up surprisingly seeing every one who had made fun of her so many years ago with more tears in their eyes than I had in mine. Kim could have had a future, could have been happy... but fait doesn't agree with happy endings. The only great memoir I will ever have will be that day when I finally saw Kim smile her beautiful smile. I took one more look at her, and with a final sob closed the coffin. Leaving Kim locked in a box forever was dreadful. The only thing left I have is memories.
