Christmas 2007: Fun and funky gift ideas for teen girls

It's music to your ears when you hear your teenage daughter squeal with delight over a Christmas gift you purchased for her. It takes some investigative work these days to know what's popular with your teen, and where to find it at the most reasonable price.

Before you make any Christmas purchases, ask your teen for suggestions. It's disappointing to them, and you, to receive a gift they don't want.

That said, here are a few fun and funky gift ideas.

A personalized street sign. Teens like to display these on their bedroom wall.

Tokyo Pop dolls. Also known as Moniji dolls. These are Japanese friendship dolls that can be collected. Each doll has a personality of its own and represents a virtue or a positive trait. There is the laughing Moniji doll and one called the Moniji rainbow doll, to name a few. They are pint size and cost twelve dollars.

For the teen who is environmentally savvy, she may enjoy a "Think Green Tee." These cotton-poly tees feature messages on the front such as; "Don't Be Trashy Recycle" and "I Recycle Boys." Their color is army green and are priced at twenty-four dollars and fifty cents.

What teen wouldn't want an iPod? The new iPodTouch can surf and browse the web using Wi-Fi and Safari, and watch You Tube' videos. It's the first iPod with Wi-Fi built in.

Teens and cell phones are almost inseparable. In today's market, cell phones can be updated with various accessories such as ring tones, cases, blue tooth and many other matching accessories.

A gold chain, a birth stone ring, or small diamond earrings for her pierced ears, are the types of jewelry teens enjoy wearing.

Let's not forget music and DVD's. If you're uncertain of what to buy, ask your teens' friends, or purchase a gift card from a local DVD/music store.

Here's some other fun gifts.

A bean bag chair.

A gift card to the nail salon, pizza parlor, favorite clothing store, movie theater, tickets to a rock concert, or an over sized poster of a popular singing group.

If your teen is saving for a particular item, giving money toward it is another option.

With all the choices available and some fact-finding investigating, your teen will enjoy her merriest Christmas ever.
