First aid for burns

You can print this little special first aid reference for such emergency's. If the emergency is really serious, then immediately send for an emergency rescue squad, a doctor, or ambulance. And by all means do not move the person till professional medical care arrives. You may cause more harm if you try to move the person. Keep calm. Check to see if the person is caring any valuable medical information cards.
Shock:
If the seriously injured person goes into shock, do not give anything to drink.
Symptoms: Nausea, pale , breathing is weak , but deep and irregular, clammy skin.
By all means do not overheat the shocked person, to much heat is not well.
3. Have the person lay down on a flat surface and put a cover under him/her if they are cold. But do not attempt to move if neck or back are injured. If the head is injured or there is trouble with breathing, elevate the neck and shoulders. Other positions are to elevate his/her legs about 7 to 12 inches, unless he or she complains of pain. Cover person with a light blanket.
BURNS: Do not : use antiseptic spray,jells.
Do not: apply pressure on the areas that are burned. Check person for shock. Medical aid should be seeked. Treat each burn accordingly. Determine the degree of a burn. first degree: Discolored skin or red. Second degree: mottled skin, blisters or red. Third degree: Charred or white skin. 1. Dip into cold {no Ice} water until pain settles. Or apply clean compresses that are dipped and have been wrung out in cold Ice water.
You can blot gently with a sterile gauze or a clean cloth. Loosely cover with a clean dressing that is dry. Elevate the arms, legs higher than the chest area.
3.Burn of second degree: Important: call immediately for a doctor or paramedics. Do not add water to the burn. Do not attempt to remove clothing from victim. Do not use absorbent cotton. 1. Lightly cover burned victim with a dry non-stick sheet or cloth. 2. Elevate burned body parts as arms, legs higher than the heart or chest.
