at Christmas." Again Chris nodded his head in agreement.
It was time for the message. "Chris, there was a time when you were little that you couldn't understand what Jesus has done for you. Santa Clause stood in for Jesus at that time. Santa loved you when you were wrong if you were sorry. He showed his love for you in ways a little kid would understand." Chris nodded his head in agreement.
"Chris, Jesus did the same for you and me. He loves us even when we're wrong, and tell him we're sorry we were wrong. He forgives us and we can try again to do better. One time he gave his greatest gift you can give someone. We still give him thanks on Easter each year." Chris was still with me, and nodded his head in acceptance.
"Now Chris, this is very important. Do you love Santa." "Yes, Paw."
I questioned him, "Do you have to believe in Santa for him to give you a gift." "I guess so, Paw, that's what everybody says." "Chris, If you believe in Jesus he will give you the greatest gift a you'll ever receive." "What's that, Paw." "Someday you'll be able to live with Jesus and the rest of us forever, in heaven. That a big gift Chris.
"Chris, listen, the question isn't do you believe in Santa Clause, the question is now that you're a big boy, do you believe in Jesus like I do." Chris thought a moment before answering, "I think so, Paw." Chris no longer questioned me but seemed lost in thought.
