in Super System II. Negreanu has always shown himself to be more than a professional poker player, he has shown himself to be a fan of poker.

I am not saying Negreanu is unique as a poker expert, and amongst his fellow professional poker players, I would say that he rates just below Doyle Brunson and Phil Hellmuth in experience and success stakes, and just below Howard Lederer and Chris Jesus' Ferguson in figure out the mathematics. Negreanu though brings the additional benefit of reading his fellow players and the ability to "know" what cards his opponents are playing. All five I would rate as experts and will listen or read their advice, and rate it higher than other so called experts. Negreanu can come across as arrogant, and is often seen to belittle his opponents, as he gets easily irritated by bad beats put on him by amateurs ignoring pot odds.

In my opinion Daniel Negreanu is the best poker player who will never win the main event at the World Series of Poker. He will though continue to win tournaments and WSOP bracelets where there is a greater concentration of professional poker players and less chance of "bad beats". All his experience and success means that he is one of five professional poker players who I will continue to listen to, to learn from and to regard as a true poker expert.
