For any parent looking for fun and funky gift ideas for teen girls, today is your day. Because those two things are now considered mainstream and there are entire stores dedicated to "Fun and funky" teen items. To help define "Fun and funky" a parent must first realize a couple of things: it is going to mean something you don't like, something you think is too much, or something you just generally frown at when partnered with your teen. So take a deep breathe and give these items a try.
Starting off on the lighter side of funky, here are a few neat gifts.
Fun T-Shirts! No, not the one with the little kitty and a heart, you need the slightly shorter, slightly tighter "Girl T-Shirt" with a "Saturday Night Live" quote, retro cartoon character, or band logo on it. But make sure the band is one they own a ton of music from and always drive you crazy with.
Fun makeup, meaning anything bright or containing glitter. Glitter lotion, glitter lipstick, glitter eyeshadow, glitter powder, glitter dust. There's just no end to the glittery products out there for her to play with. There are also tons of temporary hair colors, sparkles, and such that can be used as easily as lip-gloss. There are also really fun hair or makeup stickers. Hair stickers that add tiny flowers to her locks, or tiny gem stickers for the outside of each eye. An assorted basket of these items can be a great gift.
Try a Bedroom Fluff set in luxurious fabrics and colors. These usually come in sets like: A dark purple blanket and flower pillow with matching flower picture frame and alarm clock, or a pale pink set of butterfly pillows with matching bedside lamp and throw rug.
If your teen happens to have a car, there are tons of accessories available. From plain window stickers of their favorite band to fancy car decals of tribal butterflies. Steering wheel covers, car seat covers, and floor mats with neat themes work too. You can find sets of those in cow print, with Betty Boop pictures, or even covered in wildflowers. Travel CD cases have become fun too. You can find them shaped like cartoon characters, ladybugs, or sleek skulls, it's all out there.
Novelty Theme toys, basically action figures made for adults. I've seen Albert Einstein, Marie Antoinette, Harry Potter, Star Wars, The Simpson's, High School Musical, Kurt Cobain and much more. Pretty much any show, movie, music, or history your teen is into, they now make a comic novelty theme toy for.
If they carry a purse, then why not get them a fun purse for
