you eat: Was that a donut you had this morning? Uh oh, think twice before putting those foods loaded with saturated fats and sugars in your mouth. Eat the bran muffin instead. They're good, really. Don't change all your bad eating habits at once. Take your time, remove one bad thing and replace it with something healthier. Pretty soon, you won't even notice the brown rice isn't mashed potatoes and gravy.
3) Substitute coffee with tea: This is not your grandmother's tea. Try shopping for loose teas in some of the specialty shops. There you can sample selections of green, red and white teas. Buy a tea maker, sock up on tins to store your tea. Come on, its delicious, healthy and you'll be trendy to boot.
4) Nurture your existing relationships: While you're flirting away with all the eligible men, don't forget to make time for the people who already find you fascinating. Keep your friends close and confide often. Family ties are the strongest, remind them of their value frequently.
5) Volunteer: Do something for someone else. Hospitals, nursing homes, daycare centers, libraries; they all need you. You want to know the big bonus? It feels really good.
6) Love thyself: William Shakespeare knew what he was talking about when he penned the words " to thine own self be true". this, above all else. How can you expect to take care of anyone, love anyone, trust anyone or save anyone unless you give those things to yourself first? If you have a hard time with the concept, think about professional counseling. Our pasts have a funny way of making themselves our present. So if you think you need it, or even if you don't, just a few sessions can help you see something you didn't know was there, holding you back.
Life throws enough on our shoulders without us heaping more on top ourselves. Give yourself a break. Take some time to nurture yourself and those that love you. Keep your body and mind healthy and active. Before you know it, you won't even have to think about crossing the room...he'll be right in front of you.
