Last Actor In Scotland
He was words
Me the willing ear
Words pleased me.
Mind aching
With deep need
Words teased me.
His depth of voice
Actor upon stage
Me applauding.
Play on stage
Drew me in
Loved pretending.
A thousands miles
Disappearing
Minds melding.
Rising up to
Share his stage
Passion enacted.
Hesitant
Frozen in time
Then melting.
Reaching out
Across the chasm
Sweetly connecting.
Shared faux love
Till final curtain
Magic fleeting.
Make believe
Words withdrawn
Abrupt rejecting.
Bittersweet
Ache for words
Sad accepting
Ethereal wisps of passion
Echoing softly
From his essence.
Oft night breezes carry faintly perceived voice
Etching sweet words on the fragile surface of my soul
To gently calm me.
Embedded in dreams
Bittersweet memories
Through eternity shall never leave me...
