Holding your man while keeping your friends

It is a well known fact that we drift away from people in life. Friendships that were formed in childhood can often faze out as the years pass. My grandmother always said,'you can count your friends on one hand'.In my youth I liked to be surrounded by many, flippantly throwing the word friend around. Now I know that my grandmother was right, true friends are hard to come by. What to do then when faced with the ultimatum, Its us or him.

We all know what it is like to fall in love, at least hopefully once in our lives. Going out with the girls does not seem as appealing as a cosy night by the fireside with the man of your dreams. Hard as this might seem to the posse of girls you have acquired through the years, you would expect them to be as happy for you as you are for yourself, right?

Its sad that it does not always work out that way, and sometimes friends can be left feeling abandoned and betrayed. Maybe you were once part of a fierce foursome who painted the town red on the weekend, or part of a twosome who up until now had been inseparable. Should you carry the guilt for falling in love, for seeking the companionship that a friend just cannot provide. Should your friend(s) just let go.

Sometimes we have to make choices we may not want to make. Isn't that what life's all about. Your friends if they are true will always be there. It has been said that men come and go, friends are forever, but that just is not the case. So if you find mister right, hold onto him and let your friends hold onto you.
