The first step as in most things in our lives is to recognise the fact that we always have a second chance in all that we do in our lives. And this awareness and recognition is overlooked when on the surface it seems the obvious thing to do. But the surface often reflects to us only what we want to see from it, and so we seldom dive under the waters of a problem to discover all the second chances or buried treasure lying below or always inside every problem that comes to us.

Every moment in our lives we are being given a second chance, if we could only recognise this instead of acting too quickly on our impulses and reactive patterns of being. We follow our instincts and our past habits of patterned thinking far more than we are usually aware of. The second chance is always to love and to do the more loving thing, in each and every chance that we get.

Is this right and is the sentiment correct, do you think?

An interesting analogy is like when I fed my dog a whole chicken neck this morning, it didn't and couldn't attempt to eat it at all when presented to it like that. It was too big for it to even risk attempting. Maybe it feared choked, who really knows? But when I cut it into smaller mouth sized pieces for it, it wolfed it all down, very quickly then. It got me to thinking that life is about matching the size of the experience to the size of the dog in the experience. Or the size of the meal and the piece of meat must be big enough only for the size of the dog to digest and to be able to eat and consume. An experience of life is usually perfectly set up and suited for us to get the maximum benefits from it, but only if we break it down and take a second look or give the learning a second chance to come to us.

All at once, it can frighten us and so bring an instinctive response of fear. Allowed to come more slowly, and so breaking down the effects and the fear by giving it more time, and so more chances to sink down deeper into our hearts, perhaps will allow us to feel the truth in our hearts and to take the second chance being offered in this way to us.

And so how correct is this idea, do you think?

Second chances are all about taking a second and better look at each situation that develops in your life, so that you can listen to all possible input and not act too rashly or quickly with a great haste and so waste the chance that you had and always have, to act with a greater love at that time. A greater love really means to sit back and not to immediately follow
