All of us like tasty food. Spices add extra taste to the food. So we must maintain certain spices in our kitchen to make mouth watering spicy dishes. The list is:
1. Cloves: these are must and should items in Indian Kitchens. They are used in preparing various non-veg items like chicken, meat, sea food, fish,etc. Cloves are also used as a home remedy for dental problems and headache.
2. Cardamom: Both green and black cardamom have great importance in making spicy food. They add extraordinary flavor and additional taste to the dish. Many of them store it as powder for instant use. Most of the people uses green cardamom while preparing tea for better taste and aroma.
3. Cinnamon: This is most wanted spicy item. It is used in all kinds of non-vegetarian spicy foods. In India ,people use this cinnamon stick as mouth freshener also.
4. Cumin seeds: Cumin seeds are the compulsory items in Indian kitchen. This is most wanted spice in Indian Kitchen for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian curries. You cannot expect a dish without which in India. especially in South India.
5. Bay leaves: This is the most demanded item. Because, Bay leaves are must and should item in making all kinds of Biryanis. Its extraordinary aroma gives delicious taste to the biryani.
6. Coriander seeds: These seeds are very important in making some spicy items like sambar, coconut rice and biryani. Mainly they are used in cooking mutton or lamb.
7. Fenugreek seeds: These are daily used by Indians in Making rasam. They are also treated as good remedy for diabetes. The fenugreek powder is given to lactating mothers, as it increases the breast milk production.
8. Mustards: Mustards are used in cooking all varieties of vegetarian food. Mustard powder is the main ingredient in making all Indian pickles. Mustard powder gives extraordinary taste to the fish curry. So this is most important ingredient in Indian kitchen.
9. Ginger and garlic: Ginger garlic paste is used in almost all Indian curries. This is the most wanted ingredient. Indians use this daily in their dishes thinking that ginger is good for throat ,stomach and indigestion problems. Similarly garlic is good for heart.
10. Pepper ,red chilly powder and salt: these are the common ingredients in Kitchen. As they are not only used in making dishes but also used in making salads and snacks.
