In the words of the awkward middle-daughter, Jan Brady, from the Brady Bunch, I say, Oprah...Oprah...Oprah!
Wasn't it Oprah Winfrey, back in January of 2007, who neglected and excluded every (less-fortunate and well-deserving) American seventh and eighth grade child, in order to honor Nelson Mandela of South Africa with a lavish fifty-two acre, forty-million dollar 'Leadership Academy' (complete with residence halls and a beauty salon) for girls?
Not surprising now to learn that Oprah's gearing up to use her star media-power to campaign and endorse her pick of the Democratic Presidential candidates for the 2008 elections, starting with a three-state bus tour in December.
Oprah, being one of the wealthiest most influential women in the world, has chosen (once again) to ignore the goose that laid the golden opportunity of endorsing another dynamic Democratic Presidential hopeful, Senator Hillary Clinton.
Oprah has declined the chance to show support for feminism, women's rights, equal rights and other history making International women's movements by campaigning against Hillary's election hopes, as the first female President of the United States.
The toss up? Barak Obama, an explosive history-making candidate for President, considering the fact that Obama, if elected, will become the first African-American man to hold the office of U.S. President in America.
Obama has already out-shined previous African-American Presidential candidates like Jesse Jackson in 1988 and former Senator, Carol Mosley Braun, in the 2004 Presidential elections, the 1972 candidate Shirley Chisholm, Rev. Al Sharpton's bid in 2004, and Alan Keyes both in 1996 and 2000.
Oprah has neither endorsed nor campaigned for any other black Presidential candidate, until Obama 2008. But how well does Oprah's endorsements measure up thus far?
America's favorite and most respected talk-show host's weight-throwing (no pun intended) political antics might hurt Obama's election chances, due to Oprah's cavalier tendencies to condone and advocate support for unqualified derelicts and impoverishments.
Emmy-Award winning hip-hop artist, Kanye West's mother, Dr. Donda West, was found dead November 10, 2007, one day after a plastic surgery procedure was performed by the non-board certified surgeon, Dr. Jan Adams. Oprah gave Dr. Adams her stamp of approval, during his appearance on her show in November of 2003.
Winfrey's Angel Network charity funded a SECOND school in South Africa in January 2007, The Seven Fountains
