THE TREASURE CHEST OF KRAKOW
This will be an article equipped with photos to highlight not only words, but also the true soul of the city which I will propose. It will be a sort of virtual trip: I want to make you discover it through some shots which I took during my brief summer getaway in Krakow. So please follow the links between the paragraphs.
The city took during the years the appellation of "treasure chest of Europe" for the fact that inside it, in the part of the ancient city or Stare Miasto, there is a huge amount of hidden treasures, you can visit it a hundred times and each time you can discover details that you never noticed before. In every case, it is impossible to avoid to note the mightyness and the relevance of this city which is really hung out of time: overshadowing buildings, wide squares with high dark statues at their middle, churches at every corner, architectural details on the walls of the houses, unexpected events.
The best way to enjoy the beauty of Krakow is to use the taxi service, which is quite cheap in comparison with the prices of other European States, to reach directly the heart of the city, in the vast Market Square called Rynek Glowny. Once you are arrived, the spectacle in front of your eyes will be the view of the imposing wonderful Kosciol Mariacki, which is the St Mary's Church, where you can note immediately the characteristic of the two towers with different height, they have been builded, according to the legend, by two brothers who were mutually envious of the results.

Just in front of the Church there is the Sukiennice, which is the ancient big Tissues Market, under which today a lot of steady stands are situated along the whole length of its gallery where people sell products of local handicraft and souvenirs.

An imperative stop is due in the vast square, also to taste the typical salted doughtnuts called "bagels", some of them are big ring-shaped and covered by sesame or poppy seeds and others are smaller with a sweetish taste and collected in a rope string. On the Rynek Glowny, at every hours a costumed horn player looks out the window at the top of a tower of the Church to play the Mary's hymn, its musical notes run out towards the fourth cardinal points
