How to cope with your child going to preschool for the first time

now becoming big boys or girls. Maybe pick a new outfit for the special day as I am sure there will be lots of pictures being taken. Be careful not to over spoil your child here though as you do not want to end up in a position where you are bribing your child to attend preschool.

5. QUALITY TIME.
When your child has completed their first day ensure where possible you have completed any tasks such as dinner preparation in advance. If you are working decide on a take away. It is important for you and your child to spend a lot of quality time together. It is the first day you have been parted and no matter how well the day went they will have missed you. Praise any little achievements they had at preschool. Emphasize how much fun it was. Tell them how proud you are. If there are older siblings in the house involve then in the encouragement procedure too.

Preparing children for their first day at preschool is the easy part now comes the part in helping yourself.

1. TEARS.
You have at his stage fully informed your little one of every single process that they will be involved in the next few hours now comes the part of leaving them at school. No matter how prepared your child is there is still a likely hood that there will be tears shed, if not from the child then from you. Try and make the drop off as quickly as possible. Arrive at the school in an upbeat manner even if it is a little forced. Be sure to say a proper goodbye to your child and then give them a bid hug and kiss before walking away. If you hear the sound of your childes pleas to stay, remain Strong, remind them you are leaving and will be back encourage them to go get that toy you spotted on visitation day, this also prompts the teacher as to the most useful method of distraction for you child. Proceed to leave ensuring that you have the number of the school on you so you can give a call in 15/ 20 minutes to check they have settled. Remember the teachers with your child have been specially trained to deal with situations like these they are extremely talented in methods of distraction your child will be perfectly fine this is the hardest step for you.

2. CALL
Always call shortly after you have left. This gives you an opportunity to give a member of staff any information you may have previously forgotten in all the confusion earlier on. Hearing that your child is now happily playing with other members of the group will allow you a greater piece of mind. Leave your mobile number with them as a contact point
