Once you've Reached the Place where you Thought All Answers Lie,
Once you've Arrived at what you Thought was your Destination,
The Illusion Fades,
The Mask is Torn Away in a Sudden, Deliberate Fashion,
And the Truth Behind the Truth you have been Seeking,
Becomes all-too-apparent and Real in the Blink of an Eye;

You Find your Days of Wandering and Searching have been for Naught,

That ev'ry Trial and Tribulation you've Endured has been Pointless,
You Discover there Is no Real Meaning to be Found Anywhere,
There is No Truth,
No Sense of Redemption, Salvation, or even Humanity,
And the Realization Crushes your Spirit in an Instant;

All those Years spent Frantically Searching for Something- Anything,
Have been in Vain-have been Nothing but Empty Hopes,
Merely Visions of Water,
Displaced by the Notion that there may Be something Important Ahead,
And the Light you have Sought becomes as Dark as your Soul;

Once you've Stopped, and Honestly Looked Around you with Open Eyes,
You are Able to See at Last the Frailty of ev'ry Hope and Dream,
Able to Discern the Facts of Who you Are, and had Hoped to Be,
Meaningless Dust,
Swept up in the Winds of Intolerable Cruelty, and Vanity,
Left for Dead by your Own Hand, and your Own Savage Design;

You realize that there Are No Martyrs-not even your Self,
That the Entire Process has been Nothing but a Joke you Created in your Mind,
Conned by Self,
Born under the Same Iniquities that have Plagued Mankind since Day One,
That you aren't, and Never Will Be- any better than when you Started,
And that Life is but a Falsehood Based upon Illusion, Smoke, and Mirrors;

There Is no Eternal Dynasty to be Discovered-no Reward Beyond Here,
There are No Answers to Any of the Questions you Might Possess,
No Self-Awareness but for the Knowledge that No Such thing Exists,
Only That Remains,
Only the Knowledge that This is as Good as it is Ever Going to Be,
And that Nothing you Can Say, Do, or Imagine will Ever Change that;

As the Sores on your feet Blister, and Ooze onto the ground Below you,
And the Heat Blisters on your Skin Burn even Deeper, and Harsher,
You Are Alone,
With No One to See you, Save you, nor Pull you Back in to the Void,
No Angels of Mercy-no Heavenly Afterthought Whatsoever,
Only You, the Empty Space, and Time shall Ever Exist from Here on in,
And only Solitude shall be your Companion;

The Answers are not real-nor are the Questions that Ache Within,
Only Despair and Frustration may Ever be Labeled as Real in Any Way,
Only the Damnation of Imperfection, and Human Error may Breathe,
This is Life,
This is All that you are Ever going to Be in this Unbalanced Menagerie,
And the Sooner you Accept it-the Sooner you can Realize you Will Never be Whole
