As I look back in time down my memory lane
Remembering all of my joys and all of my pain

I was the happiest of men without a doubt in my mind
Pressing through my life without looking behind
My life had seemed to me to be much more than a race
But now it seems to be I'm just counting the days

Why can't the things in life be how they were before
At a time in life when everything was worth much more
