The frangipani is one of the most beautiful trees in Australia, with a perfume that fills the air. Frangipani trees are found in other countries under different names - plumeria, pagoda tree or temple tree. This is a wonderful allover body lotion and you don't have to use perfume with this lotion because the fragrance of frangipani oil is beautiful all by itself.
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 tablespoon light sesame oil
1 tablespoon almond oil
1 teaspoon grated beeswax
1/4 borax powder
1/4 cup distilled water
1 tablespoon rose water
Several drops frangipani oil or frangipani fragrance (found in natural food stores)
3 tablespoons distilled water
Combine the oils and beeswax in a glass measuring cup. Place in a water bath and melt the oils and wax. While the oils-wax mixture is melting, dissolve the borax in the 1/4 cup distilled water. Add the rose water to the borax-water mixture. When the oils-wax mixture has melted, heat the borax solution until just boiling (45 seconds in the microwave on High, or on the stove top in a water bath). Remove the oils-wax mixture from the water bath and stir into the borax solution. Allow the mixture to cool completely. When cool, add several drops of frangipani oil. The more you add, the more fragrant your lotion will become. Remember not to add too much - you can always add more later. Pour the complete mixture into the blender. On high, slowly add the 3 tablespoons distilled water, one at a time, until you have a light, white lotion. Spoon into a clean jar or container with a lid. Massage this cream into your skin and enjoy. Makes approximately 8 ounces.
