These days, finding a good-paying job is quite a challenge. Once you've overcome that, being able to keep the job is even a greater challenge.
No one wants to get in trouble for anything, especially when it provides you financial security. Therefore make it a point to be aware of the things that potentially could cause you your job. This is one of those cases where it's better to be safe than sorry.
Here's the list of those trouble-causing things and how you can avoid them:
1. Dishonesty - No one can tolerate a liar, in either action or deeds, and worse, both. Be sure to own up when you've made a mistake, because eventually, everyone will know the truth one way or the other. Being dishonest and covering up a mistake with a lie will only lead to further problems rather than finding a solution to correct your mistake. This will not only waste money but invaluable time and manpower, not to mention losing the trust of your colleagues. Of course, there is no need to remind you to never steal anything. Somehow, people tend to forget that any kind of stealing is a form of dishonesty. You might think it's just a small thing you're pocketing, nothing that will be noticed, but gradually, your mind can disillusion you to thinking that the item you are stealing is negligible, when in fact, it isn't anymore.
2. Disrespect for bosses and peers - Always keep your cool and speak in a moderate voice, never raise it whatever the case. Everyone deserves respect. If there are different view points, just talk things out in a peaceful manner. Never talk behind anyone's back because word will definitely get around. If you have complaints or anything to say about somebody, settle it between the two of you, this way, you won't start the rumor mill running.
3. Bad work ethics - Tardiness, unenthusiasm, disorganized, uncooperative behavior, arrogance...all of these could be quite intolerable especially in the most extreme forms. Be careful with the way you work. Remember that as part of a company, you contribute to its failure or success. Teamwork plays a major role in the success of a company. If people find that you are difficult to work with due to bad work ethics, the company will definitely suffer, and so will you when you lose the job.
4. Unsettled differences - Things could get really bad and bite you in your behind if you don't settle differences after a misunderstanding or an argument. It's hard to work when there are ill feelings present anyway, so better make up and
