The two commandments Christ offered us to follow are. You shall love God with all your heart mind and soul. The second is like unto it: You shall love your neighbor as you love yourself.
The writer of the first article is correct in as much as she says only God may judge a person.
This is true. Nevertheless, Jesus tells us we are to love the sinner and hate the sin. This is very important in understanding what is judgment and what its' purpose is
Take the issue of gender orientation or as some people call Homophobia. If a person has an attraction to a member of the same sex it is not the sin until you act upon the orientation and have sex relations. Sin implies action. Actually, with out concomitant action no states of sin exist. Serious sins require affirmative action and willfulness on the part of the sinner. If one has a sexual thought come into his mind it is a sin when he takes the action and ruminates on the thought. However, the sin thoughts expose to in all of priest, minister, evangelist, Imams', schoolteacher, scoutmaster, uncles, aunts fathers, mothers and us are all tempted. Yes, some fall pray to the sinful thoughts and there is the point when temptation becomes actual sin. Because the thought is ruminated in the sinners mind to the point, he or she takes the action, which creates mortal sins.
God ask we ask for forgiveness, faith to stay away from areas where we can fall prey to sin. We also must make reparation for our sins to obtain the true forgiveness of God.
We are all poor sinners in our own way and all God expects us to do if we stumble and fall into sin of any degree is to confess our sin to one of our brother of the church. WE hurt God when we take action on sinful thoughts. In addition, we hurt others as well. We must confess our sin and ask God to give us the grace to be strong and keep warded off from situations where serious sin could become actions.
