Carseats are important when you travel with babies.They play an important role in protecting your babies during an accident.Car seats have also plays an important role in saving many tiny lives in a serious accident also.Keeping you babies long in car seats can also cause some problems in breathing.

Carseats made of vinyl can burn the skin of your babies in summer. Check that all belts and buckles are in good shape and working as recommended. Many cases children have more weight compared to age.Carseat manufacturing is done based on age and if children exceed the weight limit ,the buckles and straps can cause cuts in babies body if used for long.

Carseats without car beds cannot help your child to lie down.This means children will have to sit for too long and this can injure the back during a long journey.Again carseat use for too long restricts babies movement.This can cause some obstacle in overall development as it curbs the overall freedom of child to move for long.

Parents of newborns are advised not to travel for too long in car with babies.Studies shows that newborns especially premature babies can develop breathing problems from sitting in carseats for long.The refelexes that make head upright and noraml breathing takes time to develop in newborn.Studies also showed that there has been cases of temporary stopage in breathing in premature babies during long journeys.

American Academy of Paediatrics recommends that car seats should only be used for travel and that should be minimised in first three months of infancy.
