Ozone and melanoma relation is not very clear.Majority of studies show that there is a link eventhough some scientists oppose this claim.
Ozone is the protective layer around the earth. This layer is supposed to protect the earth from UV A and UV B rays of sun. There has been an increase in atomic clorine and bromine from carbon tetrachloride and cloroflurocarbon released from our old referigerators and AC units which hasbeen blaimed for formation of ozone hole.
Ozone hole cause falling of UV B rays on earth.UV B cause melanoma is a well known fact.Melanoma are rare and yet dangerous.
There has been more UV radiation in Auatralia compared to Europe.Another well known fact is Australia has large number of skin cancer which is the 5 th major cancer .
The big ozone hole over the Antarctic in 1985 and an increase in skin cancer in those two decades is yet another factor which makes scientists believe there is a relation.
Again in Punta Arenas,Chile, there has been a large number of sunburn cases in people who spent much time outdoors after an ozone hole was detected in the area..
All these studies show that tere is a relation between ozone and melanoma.
After having so much evidences how can believe that there is no link?
