Poetry: Fish

by Makala Shay

Created on: November 25, 2007

Colorful clowns, and stars galore,
rainbows, and so much more.

The sights you are sure to find,
when fish it is you have in mind.

Fresh and salt water too, in tanks
with just one, or quite a few.

Some gold or dark brown, slender
or big and round.

Yellow, red, silver and blue, some
have been a movie or two.

Whether in a store, or the ocean blue,
a river, or aquarium owned by you.

They seem to show up everywhere, in
pet stores, restaurants, or clothes
we wear.

On videos, toys, and grocery shelves,
or when we catch them by ourselves.

Mounted hanging on the wall, and on
every child's pool or blow up ball.

Now they have some that can even talk,
and on their tails they have learned to
walk.

Bass that know how to sing, and some
that jumps through hoops and rings.

No longer just the common fish, you
can buy them that do whatever you
wish.
